Welcome to the Breitung Township Website. Breitung Township was organized on August 1^st, 1882. We are located in northern St. Louis County, Minnesota on the eastern end of Lake Vermilion. Our township covers 42 square miles and is home to 525 residents. Whether you are just visiting or live here year-round, we have plenty of services and attractions to keep you safe and entertained.

Stuntz Bay Landing

Parking passes for Stuntz Bay Landing are now available for purchase, the cost is $20.00. Passes are sold at the Soudan Store or may be requested by mailing a stamped, self-addressed envelope and payment to: Stuntz Bay Association – PO Box 102 – Soudan, MN 55782

Passes are not available for purchase at the Clerk’s office. Thank you.  

Stray Cats

It has been brought to the attention of the Breitung Town Board that there is an issue with stray/feral cats in town.  Please do not feed stray/feral cats; we will consult with local animal assistance companies for removal of the cats.  If you notice a large population of the cats in your area, please notify the clerk by emailing clerk@breitungtownshipmn.gov or stopping in during office hours.  Thank you.

Animal Ordinance

Breitung Township encourages you to license your pets!  It is within our ordinances that dogs and cats must be licensed; it is for your benefit and your pets to purchase a license – if your pet is loose, a license can help easily identify your furry friend and get them back home safely! Licenses last the lifetime of the animal and cost $20 for a spayed/neutered animal or $30 for non-spayed/non-neutered.  You can review the animal ordinances here: Breitung » Township Ordinances
