Notice of Filing for Town Offices to be Elected
Notice is hereby given that a town election will be held in the Township of Breitung, St Louis County, Minnesota, on Tuesday, the 10^th day of March, 2026.
The first day for filing affidavits of candidacy will be Tuesday, the 30^th of December, 2025. The last day will be Tuesday, the 13^th of January, 2026, at 5:00pm
Filings may be made with the Township Clerk, Amber Zak.  You can make an appointment by calling 218-753-6020, or visit our website for forms and mail them along with the filing fee to: Breitung Township, PO Box 56, Soudan, MN 55782

The following terms will be expiring:
Supervisor Seat #3 for the term of 3 years
Clerk for the term of 2 years
Filing fee is $2.00

Breitung Township is now requesting proposals for Campground Manager at McKinley Park Campground.  Please click the link below to view the proposed contract; if you are interested, please review it in its entirety and fill out appropriate fields for name, compensation, and store hours; adjustments to the terms may be negotiable as well.  Proposals should be turned in no later than Tuesday, December 9th; candidates may be contacted with questions or negotiations, the Breitung Town Board will discuss the proposals at their December 16th meeting.  You can turn your proposal in by emailing it to clerk@breitungtownship.org, dropping it off at the clerk’s office during office hours, or by mailing it to Breitung Township, PO Box 56, Soudan MN 55782.  If there are any questions, please email Breitung Township Clerk, Amber Zak or call (218) 753-6020 Tuesday – Thursday, 9 AM – 1 PM.

McKinley Park Management Agreement – 2026 Season

Welcome to the Breitung Township Website. Breitung Township was organized on August 1^st, 1882. We are located in northern St. Louis County, Minnesota on the eastern end of Lake Vermilion. Our township covers 42 square miles and is home to 525 residents.

Office hours are 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Whether you are just visiting or live here year-round, we have plenty of services and attractions to keep you safe and entertained.
